Letters Aloud acts out words of famous people
The Whitefish Theatre Company is thrilled to present Letters Aloud, a Seattle-based theatre troupe who is bringing their show FAME (they’re not going to live forever!) to the Flathead Valley. ATP show next week combines opera and burlesque
Alpine Theatre Project is presenting the opera “OperaLesque” this month. The show is Feb. 14-16 at the ATP Garage, 6464 Highway 93 in Whitefish. “OperaLesque” will feature some of the greatest opera singers in the nation from the Metropolitan Opera and New York City Opera mixed with tantalizing burlesque. Whitefish speech team deserved their title
By now, many of you have probably heard about the debacle that rattled the Class A Speech and Debate tournament this past week. In a devastating turn of events for Whitefish High School, a tabulation error was found that awarded the state championship to Columbia Falls High School. I could sit here and write for pages on how I believe our team deserves the win, how some unsportsmanlike behavior may have altered the outcome, but I won’t. Because, despite this major disappointment, it is not the most notable thing that happened over the course of the season, the state competition, and the past few days.
Representative provides update from Montana Legislature
So many bills come and go. The sponsor presents a bill. She articulates the merits of her bill in a carefully crafted synopsis to set the stage for opponents and proponents to convince the committee. The sponsor hands off the bill to the committee. Ownership is short lived. One need not become emotional, the bill will live a life of its own; amended, tabled, brought off the table, read on the floor and moved to the other chamber. It’s not easy passing a bill. Many will fail.
