Maeve Ingelfinger was the top finisher Saturday in the 4K race at the Carnival Classic at Glacier Nordic Club.

The Glacier Nordic Ski Team’s Competitive Team traveled to Boise, Idaho on Feb. 9-10 for the third and final junior national qualifier of the season.

The first race was a classic style five-kilometer individual start held under challenging windy and snowy conditions. In the U16 race, Jacob Henson was a strong fifth at 18:27, Ruedi Steiner was 28th at 21:11, Nate Ingelfinger was 35th at 22:08 and Barrett Garcia finished 45th at 24:15. In the U18 race, Winslow Nichols was 27th at 22:41.

In Sunday’s U16 5km individual skate race, Jacob Henson was ninth at 15:39, Ruedi Steiner was 27th at 17:16, Nate Ingelfinger was 28th at 17:22 and Barrett Garcia was 40th at 18:43. Winslow Nichols was 25th at 36:19 in the U18 10km race.

Jacob Henson finished the season qualifying in 12th place as an alternate for the US Ski & Snowboard Inter Mountain Division Junior National Team. He missed making the team by only .5 points — a great result considering that he and the rest of the team have all been racing at the bottom of their age brackets this year.

The team raced this past weekend at the local Carnival Classic race and some of the team will attend upcoming races in Jackson, Wyoming and West Yellowstone.
