Martel Construction selected for Whitefish High School expansion
Martel Construction Inc. has been selected as the general contractor for the recently approved academic and athletic expansions at Whitefish High School.
Martel is a trusted local company with a proven record of excellence on projects for the Whitefish School District.
In September 2024, Whitefish voters approved two bonds that will significantly enhance educational and athletic opportunities for the Whitefish community. A $6.1 million athletic expansion bond allows the district to construct a new 10-lane track and football field with 1,500-seat grandstands that will include admission facilities, concessions and restrooms.
Martel is scheduled to begin construction on this first phase in June.
Martel will embark on the academic phase in the spring of 2026. This $26.5 million expansion will add classrooms, lab spaces, secure entrances and multi-purpose facilities, while also conducting renovations for Whitefish Independent High School.
Ryan Dunn, Martel's Flathead Market President, shared his enthusiasm for the continuing partnership.
"Martel is excited to start our third project for Whitefish School District,” Dunn said. “We live and work in this community and our children attend Whitefish schools. We are fully invested in the success of this expansion.
“Martel looks forward to delivering another exceptional project for WSD and we are honored to continue supporting positive growth in Whitefish," he added.
