The Class of 1935, with Mrs. Ray Diest as committee chairman, announced the decision to join the 20 year “Home-coming” reunion of Whitefish High School. "We are looking forward to seeing the old grads," enthused Mrs. Diest. “And our class, with a membership of 65, brings the total graduates to 545.” Assisting Mrs. Diest were Mrs. Lloyd Muldown, Mrs. Phillips Carlon, Mr. Ray Knapton and Mr. and Mrs. Orland Nelson of Havre.

The Flathead County Commissioners reaffirmed their intent to repave Wisconsin Avenue in the summer. Alan Jacobson, commissioner for the North Valley, said the road would be taken care of. In a meeting with Whitefish officials, the commissioners committed themselves to repairing the road after some details over maintenance were agreed upon. The struggle between the city and county resulted in a visit by representatives for the Federal Highway Department to inspect Wisconsin Avenue, which is a Federal Aid Secondary.

The city moved one step closer to allowing residents to vote on a proposed resort tax after the Montana House of Representatives approved House Bill 524 by a slim majority. The House voted 57 - 38 on the third and final reading of the bill, which would amend state law to allow the city to be designated as a resort community if it has a population of less than 5,500 and derives its primary or secondary income from tourism.

Teamwork and camaraderie were the Northern Lights Ladies greatest assets and, in the end, it won them the Griz Cup. “We had an advantage playing all tournaments together. That was a factor,” Coach Mike Cahill explained. “The traveling, staying together and hanging together. The camaraderie. Off and on ice, they are friends.” That all translated into a dramatic 2 - 1 victory over Missoula’s Powder Hounds.

The Whitefish School District formed a committee to explore what upgrades were needed for the aging facility and how to fund the project. “Muldown is now the oldest school we have,” school board Chairwoman Pat Jarvis said, noting that part of the school was built in the 1960s. "It's hard for me to believe.” The remodel would primarily address infrastructure issues, said Chad Smith, school maintenance director. Work being considered included replacing an outdated HVAC system and a problematic roof.
