Lady Dogs fall short against Pirates

Whitefish couldn’t overcome a slow start in a 44-31 Northwestern A Conference loss to Polson on Tuesday, Jan. 14. The Lady Pirates posted an 18-6 lead after the first quarter, and the Lady Bulldogs found themselves down 26-11 at the half.

Allie Shors led Whitefish with seven points, while Carmella Alfieri and Charlize Ullrich each added six points.

The Lady Bulldogs began the second half on a 14-4 run to pull within 30-25, but Polson would finish out the game on a 14-6 run.

Reese Hudson also added five points to Whitefish’s efforts. The Lady Bulldogs fell to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

The Whitefish boys also suffered a loss in their Northwestern A Conference opener, 66-55, at home. The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 3-3 on the year.
