Mountain lions active on Big Mountain Nordic Trails

A fresh mountain lion kill site was observed on Big Mountain near the Lower Badger Nordic Trail on Dec. 23, according to a Glacier Nordic Club grooming report.  

Additional daily updates consistently note fresh mountain lion tracks, most recently on the Dec. 30 grooming report.  Nordic skiers are advised to carry bear spray and keep dogs leashed, especially when riding at dawn or dusk.  

As of Jan. 6, all upper and lower trails down to Haskill Basin on Big Mountain are groomed and skiing well.
