NO. 30852 NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION Notice is hereby given that on January 21, 2025, a special election for Big Mountain Resort Area District will be held in Flathead County. The election will be a mail ballot election. No polling places will be open. The purpose of the special election is to impose a resort tax of three percent (3%) on the retail value of goods and services sold in the Big Mountain Resort Area District by hotels, motels, other lodging or camping facilities, restaurants, fast food stores, other food service establishments, taverns, bars, night clubs, lounges, other public establishments that serve beer, wine, liquor, or other alcoholic beverages by the drink, destination ski resorts and other destination recreational facilities and on all luxuries.  The tax will become effective June 1, 2025 for twenty (20) years to fund public safety, emergency services, public transportation, workforce housing, property tax relief, administration, infrastructure, or other public services, programs, or facilities benefitting the Resort Area District. Electors of the Big Mountain Resort Area District may drop their ballot off at the Flathead County Election Office, located at 290 B N Main, Kalispell, MT 59901. NO. 2796 WHITEFISH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BOARD NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING    At a meeting of the Whitefish Community Development Board on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 6:00 PM, the Board will hold a public hearing on the item listed below. The Board meets in the Whitefish Council Chambers at City Hall, at 418 E. 2nd Street Whitefish, Montana.   1. Robert Horne, Jr., Kate McMahon, and Phyllis and Jack Quatman have filed an appeal of a zoning administrator decision per 11-7-6 regarding whether a 300’ setback is required for an accessory building to an airport in relation to WCUP 24-05 for an airplane hangar at the Whitefish Airport that was approved by City Council on July 1, 2024.  The property is located at 1761 E 2nd Street and can be legally described as Lot 3EAB, in S32, T31 N, R21 W, Flathead County. A request by Brett Wrathall for a variance from the side yard setback in order to reconstruct a single-family home. The property is currently developed with a single-family home and guest house. The property is located at 430 Parkway Drive and can be legally described as Tract 7X in Section 25, Township 31N, Range 22W, P.M.M., Flathead County. (WZV 25-01) Compton-Ring   The Community Development Board will also be holding a work session at 5:00 PM before the regular meeting to discuss the draft Growth Policy Vision 2045.
