Flathead Earth Day Expo returns
The Flathead Valley Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby will host the third annual Earth Day Expo, sponsored by Northstone Solar, on Saturday, April 19, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Flathead Valley Community College.
This year’s theme, "Healthy Planet, Healthy Community," highlights how sustainability and clean energy benefit both people and the planet. Attendees can explore an EV showcase, participate in hands-on workshops, visit interactive booths and join engaging panel discussions on energy, climate and conservation.
A highlight of this year’s Expo is keynote speaker Mariah Gladstone, founder of Indigikitchen, a platform dedicated to revitalizing Indigenous food systems. Gladstone will lead three scheduled sessions, including a kids' cooking workshop, highlighting the connection between traditional foods, health and sustainable practices.
“We’re excited to bring together local leaders, businesses, and families to celebrate solutions that create a healthier, more resilient community,” said Angie Winter, CCL Flathead Valley group leader. “This event is about taking action, whether it’s learning how to save money with energy-efficient upgrades or advocating for meaningful bipartisan climate policies.”
The Expo also features live raptors from Montana Wild Wings, a collaborative community art mural and plenty of hands-on activities for kids and families. Local experts and businesses, including Northstone Solar, Carbon Recall and Pioneer Heating & Cooling, will be on hand to share practical ways to save money and reduce pollution.
With 2025 being a critical year for climate action, the Expo offers a space for learning, connection and civic engagement.
“We have an opportunity to shape Montana’s clean energy future,” Winter added. “The more we understand our options, the stronger our community will be.”
The Earth Day Expo is free and open to the public.
