Reject the politics of doom
I recently received an appeal from the Montana Republican State Central Committee, asking me to contribute to their cause. I documented 14 outright lies, including whoppers about what Republicans claim Montanans want, plainly demonstrating how out of touch Montana Republicans are.
Republicans have lost the popular vote in 7 of the last 8 Presidential elections. Why? Because the majority of Americans reject nearly all of what the Republican party supports. And Montanans increasingly are coming to embrace the majority of our fellow Americans.
Consider these well documented facts (You can look it up): 89% of Americans support legal abortions. 90% want more gun control laws. 72% believe the climate crisis is real. 71% support labor unions. 79% want the rich to pay more taxes. 76% want a higher minimum wage. 70% support legalizing marijuana. 73% want student loan debt relief. 65%
support Supreme Court term limits. 84% want free Pre-K and 3-K education programs. 69% support same-sex marriage. 65% want to end the Electoral College. 89% oppose Gerrymandering. 70% want a ceasefire in Gaza now. 72% want money out of politics. 70% of Americans are women, young adults, and people of color.
Republicans can keep their heads in the sand, failing to acknowledge these national trends. Meanwhile, the rest of us are increasingly choosing to move forward on a path that leads to more compassion, justice, and equality for all. Republicans lying about it just makes the rest of us work harder to be certain the Republican minority
positions do not prevail.
All are welcome to join the Majority in rejecting the politics of doom, fear and retribution, and embrace instead the politics of joy.
