The Whitefish cross country team went up against several Class AA schools at the Flathead Invite on Friday, Sept. 6 at Rebecca Farm.

Despite the stout competition, senior Simon Douglas was 27th (16:56.88) in the boys' race, and teammate Ethan Amick, also a senior, was 45th (17:27.86).

For the girls, Whitefish senior Kellie Klepper was 58th (22:44.73), and sophomore Sophie Douglas was 61st (23:02.01). Not far behind them was sophomore Sierra Gibb in 65th place (23:16.22), and Maren Cromie finished 72nd (23:33.85). Grace Inabnit was 97th (25:55.02).

Class AA Glacier appeared to be the toast of the meet, as Wolfpack sophomore Lauren Bissen won the girls' race in 18:42.05 seconds while Glacier junior Owen Thiel took the boys' title with a time of 15:31.71.

Bozeman won the team scoring for the boys and girls races. Corvallis was the top Class A team for the boys, while Columbia Falls finished as the highest-scoring Class A team in the girls' race.
