Whitefish Fire Department hosts open house

| October 16, 2024 1:00 AM

The City of Whitefish Fire Department is hosting an open house on Saturday, Oct. 19. This free family event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Emergency Services Center, located at 275 Flathead Avenue in Whitefish.

The public is invited to check out the emergency response vehicles and the ALERT helicopter, meet local first responders, and enjoy free hot dogs and refreshments. Children will learn how to be safe by being seen at Halloween, and free reflective trick or treat bags and glow in the dark wristbands will be available while supplies last. There will also be free face painting, activity books, and educational information on fire prevention.

Kids of all ages are welcome to touch the new E-One fire engine that was purchased by the Whitefish Fire Service Area. The Department of Natural Resource Conservation’s Stillwater State Forest Service crew will be available to answer questions about wildland fire. There will also be three authentic artifacts from the World Trade Center on display. These pieces of the Twin Towers will become part of the Whitefish 9/11 Memorial project. For more information on this fun-filled event, contact the Whitefish Fire Department at (406) 863-2483.
