Tuck new director for The Birth Center at Logan Health
Callie Tuck has been named to replace Felicity Williams, who is relocating out of state, as the director of The Birth Center at Logan Health – Whitefish. Tuck’s first official day was September 23.
“Callie is a respected leader within our team already, so she transitions to this new role with great staff support,” said Amy Vanterpool, Logan Health Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer. “She has been responsible for a number of leadership duties during her dozen years as the liaison for electronic medical records, overseeing simulation training and as the lead the birth center practice council and hospital collaborating council.”
Tuck comes from a family of nurses and started her 12-year career in labor and delivery as a student nurse at Logan Health – Whitefish. Upon completion of her degree in MSU’s nursing program, Tuck was hired full time. After witnessing several deliveries during her OB rotation, Tuck decided to pursue labor and delivery as her specialty.
“It allows you to spend a lot of time with the patient, and there are a number of technical skills needed,” Tuck said.
Tuck speaks highly of the supportive staff at Logan Health – Whitefish and the opportunities she has been given during her tenure.
“I’ve had the opportunity to participate in many aspects of the position, and I have a well-rounded perspective,” Tuck said. “I like process improvement and staff development. I look forward to continuing community outreach and providing nursing education, continuing our Planetree Culture.
Annually, 570 to 610 babies are delivered at The Birth Center at Logan Health – Whitefish. The facility also offers childbirth education classes and prenatal breastfeeding classes.
In 2018, Logan Health – Whitefish was named a Baby Friendly Hospital and was redesignated in 2023. This distinguished honor demonstrates that Logan Health - Whitefish is adhering to the highest standards of care for breastfeeding mothers and their babies.
“In addition to engagement with our community, I am looking for opportunities to work more closely with the NICU at Logan Health Medical Center and new chances to collaborate with them,” Tuck said.
