Whitefish falls to defending champs Dillon, 19-13
The Bulldogs put up a formidable fight at the home football game Friday. Defending Class A state champions Dillon defeated Whitefish 19-13, moving the Bulldogs to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the Western A conference.
Bulldog quarterback Carson Gulick ran for one touchdown and threw for one. He was 10 of 25 passing for 135 yards, with two interceptions. He ran 14 times for 36 yards.
CJ Thew caught the touchdown pass, covering 15 yards; he had three catches for 32 yards.
Colt Moses had 10 carries for 68 yards for Whitefish, which managed 273 yards of offense.
“Colt continues to get better every week, I’m excited about the plays he’s had. Aaron Anderson, Avery Caton – all of our linebackers – really stood out in positive ways, making plays all over the field,” said Brett Bollweg, head coach.
For Dillon, quarterback Canin Christiansen threw two touchdown passes, and the Beavers got a 19-yard scoring run from Hank Hagenbarth.
“We’re 2-2 in conference now. We have four games to go. Bigfork is a big game for us. We’re going to stay focused this week and take it from there.”
Whitefish will take on Bigfork at the Dog Pound for the homecoming game Friday at 7 p.m.
