Safe Streets for All Action Plan open house
The City of Whitefish is hosting an open house for the Safe Streets for All Action Plan focusing on transportation safety for all roadway users in the Whitefish community.
The open house will be Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Whitefish City Hall, 418 E. Second St. in the Council Chambers Conference Room. The public is invited to view exhibits and share feedback with the planning team.
“Over the last few months, we’ve received great feedback from our community about their transportation safety concerns,” said City of Whitefish Engineering & Sustainability Project Manager Karin Hilding. “We are excited to share more information about how we plan to address these concerns at the upcoming meeting.”
Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about proposed improvement strategies, projects and programmatic changes to address the four safety focus areas of non-motorists (pedestrians and bicyclists), intersections, inattentive drivers and speeds.
Community input is an important part of the process. The public is encouraged to participate and share feedback on proposed improvements. Materials developed for the open house will be posted to the website www.WhitefishSafeStreets.com on the day of the meeting.
Comments can be submitted to the project manager, Sarah Nicolai, via email at snicolai@rpa-hln.com, by phone at 406-447-5038, by mail at 3147 Saddle Drive, Helena, MT 59601, or at the public open house meeting.
The planning team will consider all comments before finalizing the Action Plan this winter.
