Green and Gold: In this together

In this season of gratitude, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our educators, students, parents, trustees, administrators, and the community for their shared contributions that are integral to the success of our students and schools. We have much to be thankful for in the Whitefish community as we share common interests and values to support the growth of our students.

Every week, I witness our educators' commitment to helping each student achieve at the highest level.

Our schools are places where we can all take pride in supporting our students as they progress in academics and activities. I sincerely appreciate our community’s engagement and participation in our schools and supporting each student's success.

Strong relationships with effective and respectful communication between students, teachers, families, and the community help create a resilient and thriving town. A deep sense of helping each other makes Whitefish unique in our increasingly complex times.

Our recent Graduate Profile survey showed me the shared competencies our community would like to see in our students. It is exciting to see that we have a similar vision for our students' success across broad sectors of Whitefish.

Recently, I had a chance to meet with other superintendents of mountain towns across the West. Whitefish, like towns in Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado, also share unique challenges and opportunities related to housing, income disparity, and mental health. In the coming year, I’d like to explore these subjects more as school and community — work together to leverage our strengths and do more of the wonderful things we know will help each other in our growing community.

On this holiday, I hope you will enjoy time with family and friends and have an opportunity to reflect on our good fortunes as a kind and caring community. I look forward to our continued work together to grow and learn, build upon our shared vision for our students, and celebrate our wonderful community and schools.
