Teen writing workshop focuses on the power of setting

| November 20, 2024 1:00 AM

Local author Jess Owen will share her writing expertise at “The Power of Your Story’s Setting,” a workshop for teens at the Whitefish Community Library on Friday, Nov. 22, at 4:30 p.m.

“Your setting has immense power to transport, captivate, and delight your readers,” Owen said. “The power of a carefully considered and well-written setting can elevate your story to the next level and create a new home-away-from-home your readers will want to return to again and again, whether it’s Manhattan or Montana or a galaxy far, far away.”

Owen is known for her young adult fantasy series, The Summer King Chronicles, and for contemporary young adult fiction under the pen name Jessica Kara.

This is her second workshop for teens at the Whitefish Community Library. The workshop is free for teens aged 13-19. No registration is required. For more information, call the library at 406-862-9914 or visit whitefishlibrary.org.
