Nov. 13 letters: Corrupt compensation, peace among politics
Keep council compensation in check
Now that voters have decided to award our corrupt city council a salary and benefits, the evil will be in the details. I encourage all citizens to participate in the public comment opportunities to determine how, what, how much, and what kind of oversight will be determined for salary and benefits. Without our specific input the council will have an open check book to compensate themselves at our expense. Let's not give them unchecked power in this matter.

What now, Biden?
With our dismal national presidential election finally over, what now? Donald Trump, the worst president in modern history has been reelected, and one of the most viable female candidates in recent history has lost. If you were Joe Biden, what would you do given this reality?
I would immediately resign and allow VP Harris to become the first female president in US history, if only for a few months. This campaign means nothing if some good can't come of it. President Biden if you are listening to history, become the first male and president to resign and make way for the first women president and make history doing it.

Put politics aside for peace
This letter was inspired by the very controversial and divisive political news coverage lately. I firmly believe that as we humans navigate, manage, and live out our political divides, we need inner peace. Our thinking affects each of our lives, moment by moment. Read, consider, and maybe even practice the following poetic piece.
Putting politics aside let's focus on this
We each have great power of the mind
Let's put aside fear, anger and attack
And practice being thoughtful and kind
This will promote peace and good will
Within ourselves and throughout our nation
As we live out our lives in harmony
Projecting God's Loving Creation
