Whitefish baseball edges Bigfork

Whitefish fended off a late rally by Bigfork for a 6-5 victory on Wednesday, May 8 in West Division baseball action. Michael Miller went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a double in the victory.

Whitefish finished with seven hits as a team and overcame three team errors. The Bulldogs led 3-0 after three innings, but Bigfork tied things up in the top of the fourth. Whitefish responded with two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth.

Bigfork scored a run in the sixth and seventh but couldn’t overcome the Bulldogs lead. 

Tait Orme was 2-for-3 as was Ryan Conklin, who drove in a run. Conklin also had a double, as did Avery Caton and Miller.

Miller helped his own cause with three RBI and a 2-for-3 day at the plate.

Whitefish falls to Corvallis

Corvallis scored three runs in the fourth inning for the 5-4 victory over Whitefish on Friday, May 10. The Bulldogs had a 4-2 advantage through three and a half innings before relinquishing the lead. 

Whitefish pitching by Reed Boyer, Logan Stewart, and Brady Howke held Corvallis to just two hits, but the Bulldogs also committed two errors. 

Michael Miller went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Christian Schwaderer drove in a run as well. Schwaderer had a double as did Tait Orme.

Whitefish drops game to Columbia Falls

Columbia Falls collected 13 hits and defeated Whitefish 15-1 in West Division baseball action on Saturday, May 11. Avery Caton had an RBI and a triple, but that was the only offense for the Bulldogs.

Columbia Falls led 7-1 after three innings and then plated seven more runs in the top of the fourth. Whitefish was held to three hits total. 

The loss dropped Whitefish to 7-11 on the season.
