Arbor Day tree planting a success

| May 1, 2024 12:00 AM

In honor of Arbor Day, students from the Whitefish High School agriculture group paired up with Whitefish Parks and Recreation Department volunteers to plant four new trees at the Dave Olseth Memorial Skatepark in Armory Park.

Students Astir Pulsifer, Lanie Fyall, Iris Hunt, Nick Bruce, Wyatt Akey and Brendan Bogut lead the effort. They were guided by agricultural teacher Chris Bickford, arborist Philip Hodge and volunteer Dan Cassidy.

The City of Whitefish was awarded a $850 Arbor Day Grant from the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation to help purchase the trees.
