| March 13, 2024 12:00 AM

Over the last two weekends, Flathead Valley Ski Education Foundation athletes competed in two Northern Division Youth Ski League races in Big Sky and Red Lodge.

FVSEF athletes found the podium multiple times, along with several top-10 finishes.

In Big Sky, March 3-4, Nolan Shaw won the U12 boys’ giant slalom, and Riley Ralston-Love took second in the U10 slalom.

The YSL Championships were then held at Red Lodge last weekend.

Kessa Drendel had a very successful weekend with a fourth in the U12 giant slalom, second in slalom, and third in kombi, which added up to her placing second overall for the weekend.

On the boys’ side, Arthur McIntosh raced to second place in the U12 giant slalom on Friday and Nolan Shaw finished third in the U12 slalom on Saturday. Ella Elliott had a great weekend with a pair of third-place finishes in the U14 giant slalom and slalom.

The success of FVSEF athletes earned the team a third-place overall team award within the Northern Division.
