Glacier Twins split doubleheader in season opener
The Glacier Twins opened the 2024 American Legion Class A season splitting a doubleheader against the Cranbrook Bandits on Sunday, June 2.
In the first matchup, Cranbrook won 7-2. The Bandits scored five runs in the top of the fifth and finished the game with nine hits, while Glacier was held to three hits. Kellen Koger, Michael Miller, and Nolan Amerman had hits in the matchup for the Twins. Amerman drove in two runs as well.
In the nightcap, Glacier pitching of Kellen Kroger, Treyson Murphy and Dawson Juntunen held Cranbrook to five hits while striking out four as the Twins won 4-2.
Glacier scored three runs in the third inning and another run in the bottom of the sixth.
Kellen Kroger drove in two runs and had a double, while Jake McIntyre went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Nolan Amerman had an RBI as well.

Glacier Twins B No-Hit Libby
The Glacier Twins B Team fell in their doubleheader against Lethbridge at home on Sunday, May 26 but bounced back with a 10-0 victory over Libby’s B Team on Thursday, May 30.
In their season opener, the Twins lost 17-8. Lethbridge scored multiple runs in all but one inning and finished with 10 hits as a team.
Glacier’s Jake McIntyre had two RBI in the loss, while Connor Magnuson went 2-for-3. Matthew Mitts had a double in the matchup as well. Glacier had six hits as a team.
In the nightcap, Glacier lost in a close one, 5-4. Lethbridge was held to just four hits, as Treyson Murphy started the game and struck out two.
Lethbridge led 5-0 after three innings but Glacier scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Even Drier was 2-for-2 with two RBI. Treyson Murphy and Matthew Mitts also drove in runs.
Against Libby, Trenton Derosa threw a no-hitter, striking out ten for the Twins’ B team. Glacier had eight hits as a team, as Derosa went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Ben Dow drove in three runs, while Kiernan Kelly had two RBI.
Glacier scored four runs in the first, four in the fifth, and two in the sixth.
