Search continues for Emily Rea, missing at Hungry Horse Reservoir
The search continues for a woman who was reported missing at Hungry Horse Reservoir.
Emily Rea, 33, was last contacted at 6:45 p.m. on July 16 in West Glacier. She was paddleboarding alone in the Hungry Horse Reservoir.
Rea is 5’5” tall with long brown hair and brown eyes. She was driving a black 2011 Honda CRV with a lime green paddleboard.
Her paddleboard was found the first day of the search near Flossy Creek, upside down and washed up on shore, Sheriff Brian Heino said Monday.
Rea’s car was found near Murray Bay campground.
The water search was continuing Monday and expanding its scope, Heino said. Two Bear Air Rescue was also flying the area.
Other resources deployed include detectives, search and rescue teams, boat teams, sonar equipment, and K9 teams.
In addition to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and Two Bear Air, North Valley Search Forest Service officers, and community volunteers are actively involved in the search.
A GoFundMe account organized by Michaela Schwartz had raised nearly $20,000 to support community-based unofficial search efforts. To donate visit: www.gofundme.com/f/support-the-search-for-emily-rea.
