Twins top Bucs In doubleheader

The Glacier Twins swept Bitterroot Bucs in an American Legion doubleheader action by scores of 5-3 and 4-3 on Tuesday, July 9. Kellen Kroger struck out eight in the first game, holding Bitterroot to just three hits.

Glacier built a 4-1 lead through three innings and added an insurance run in the seventh.

Jacob McIntyre and Noah Amerman each had triples, while Amerman also had a double. Both had RBIs, as did Michael Miller and Mathew Mitts. Noah Amerman finished the game 3-for-4.

Both teams had six hits in the second game, but Glacier scored a run in four of the seven innings for the victory. Maddox Muller and Dawson Juntunen combined to strike out seven Bitterroot batters. Trenton Derose drove in two runs, while Noah Amerman drove in another.

Kellen Kroger and Muller had a double, while Amerman had a triple.

Twins Open Home Tournament With Loss

Glacier hosted the Ed Gallo Wood Bat Memorial Tournament, starting the tournament with a 10-2 loss to the Couer d’Alene Lumberman on Thursday, July 11.

The Twins were held to three hits, with Reed Boyer hitting a double and Noah Amerman hitting a triple. Amerman finished with an RBI as did Maddox Muller.

Glacier Topples Missoula Impact

The Twins bounced back with a 4-0 victory over the Missoula Impact on Thursday, July 11. Both teams had four hits, with Glacier pitcher Trenton Derosa going the distance and striking out three.

Derosa helped his cause with a double while West Amerman drove in a run.

Glacier scored all of its four runs in the top of the fifth.

Glacier Stymies West Plains

The Twins had a good showing on Friday, July 12, of the Ed Gallo Memorial Baseball Tournament with a 5-1 victory over West Plains. Glacier scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back. Matthew Mitts started the game on the mound and struck out three while allowing just two hits and one run.

Dawson Juntunen pitched the final four and one-third innings, allowing just one hit and striking out one.

Kellen Kroger had a triple, while Noah Amerman, Michael Miller, and Trenton Derosa each drove in runs.

West Plains committed two errors in the contest.

Twins Cage Spokane Tigers

The Twins opened Saturday with a 7-3 victory over the Spokane Rawlings Tigers on Saturday, July 13, in the Ed Gallo Wood Bat Memorial Tournament in Whitefish.

Noah Amerman had a triple and drove in two runs, while leadoff hitter Kellen Kroger was 2-for-3, and Trenton Derosa was 2-for-2.

Glacier led 4-1 after three innings, and scored one run in the fourth and two runs in the fifth. The Twins overcame three errors in the matchup.

Twins Fall To Lumbermen Again

Glacier ran into the Couer’d Alene Lumbermen again in the Ed Gallo Wood Bat Memorial Tournament on Sunday, July 14, falling 11-3.

The game was close through three innings, with Couer’d Lane leading 4-3 before going on a seven-run rally in the bottom of the fourth.

Noah Amerman drove in two runs and had a triple, while Kellen Kroger had a double. Kroger finished the game 2-for-3.

After their home tournament, Glacier is now 22-7 on the season.
