DREAM Adaptive Recreation and Backcountry Xperiences making waves with new partnership
This summer, DREAM Adaptive Recreation launched a new partnership with Backcountry Xperiences to enhance motorized water sports programs.
Backcountry Xperiences is providing over $40,000 of in-kind goods and services through donating boats, coaches, and safety jet skis for all of DREAM’s motorized water sports days on Echo and Whitefish Lakes.
Additionally, they are supporting DREAM’s biking and paddle sports programs ensuring participants have barrier-free experiences on the water as well as the trails.
"We are incredibly excited to partner with Backcountry Xperiences," said DREAM Executive Director Julie Tickle. "Their exciting approach to helping more folks have access to outdoor recreation and their commitment to safety align perfectly with our mission to enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities through outdoor recreation.
“Demand for our life-changing services is ever-growing and generosity such as this allows us to highly subsidize our programs and impact more lives in a safe and thoughtful way,” Tickle said.
Backcountry Xperiences is equally enthusiastic about the partnership. Backcountry Xperiences is a newly launched outdoor adventure entity.
"Teaming up with DREAM Adaptive Recreation is a fantastic way for us to give back to the community and share our passion for outdoor adventure," said Sean Lujan, Co-Founder of Backcountry Xperiences.
DREAM’s Family Watersports Week will be July 16-19 at the Thompson Family’s private residence on Echo Lake in Bigfork. July 16-18 is open to individuals ages five to adults and their families, including those with physical, cognitive and sensory disabilities. July 19 is reserved for Military Veterans and their family members.
Activities will include water skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and boating with a variety of standard and adaptive equipment to choose from. No previous experience is required, as trained staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide support and instruction.
Additional individual watersports skills days will take place on Whitefish Lake on July 31 and August 7 and 14. Pre-registration is required for all participants, family and volunteers.
