Hospital Corner: A round-up of health services at Medical Village

| July 3, 2024 1:00 AM

The Logan Health – Whitefish campus is known for its hospital, but it is also home to many more Logan Health services that help meet the needs of the community. The seven-lot Medical Village just south of the hospital currently has six buildings, four of which accommodate Logan Health patients in Whitefish, the north valley and communities as far as Eureka.

Logan Health Behavioral Health – Whitefish

Standing in the middle of the row on the northern edge of the village facing the hospital, the clinic offers behavioral health services for children, adolescents and adults and is staffed with psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers and a licensed addiction counselor. In the same office, Logan Health Therapeutic Services – Whitefish is a provider-based facility offering transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). TMS is a noninvasive procedure that uses targeted pulse magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain to improve symptoms of depression. Both are open Monday – Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. To reach either one of these clinics, call (406) 862-1030.

Logan Health Rehabilitation – Whitefish

Next door on the northwest corner of the village is Logan Health’s newest rehabilitation clinic, which provides comprehensive rehabilitation in physical therapy (PT) and speech therapy (speech-language pathology, SLP) services for adults and children. Their therapy program offers a fully equipped gym, as well as private treatment rooms and modern exercise equipment. To reach this clinic, call (406) 862-9378. Open Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Outpatient Laboratory

Around the corner facing west the “Cornerstone Building” is Logan Health – Whitefish’s outpatient laboratory. This lab offers patients needing a routine blood test convenient and efficient service in a comfortable setting. Common tests are annual wellness tests, such as complete blood counts (CBC) and comprehensive metabolic panels (CMP), as well as cholesterol and thyroid tests. They also conduct urinalysis tests. Walk-in services are available. Patients must have a signed order by a physician, or an electronic order placed by a Logan Health physician. Open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The lab can be reached at (406) 862-1754 or by fax at (406) 863-3677.

Pulmonary Function Lab

Also in the Cornerstone Building, this lab performs pulmonary function tests or “PFTs” that are prescribed by a physician. These tests measure how well lungs exchange air and are used to monitor or diagnose disorders including but not limited to asthma or cystic fibrosis. This lab is open Monday – Friday by appointment only. For information call (406) 863-3575.

Logan Health Surgical Clinic – Whitefish

Located on the east side of the village facing Smith Fields, this is a preoperative and postoperative clinic for a variety of general surgery services. Surgeries are performed at both Logan Health – Whitefish and Logan Health Medical Center. The clinic is open Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached at (406) 862-5575.

In addition to these Logan Health services, the Medical Village is also home to Alpine Women’s Center and Alpenglow Dental. Hospital Way encircles the hospital and the Medical Village conveniently connecting all locations.
