FVCC Senior Institute session begins

| January 27, 2024 11:00 PM

Flathead Valley Community College’s Senior Institute returns for its 30th year of credit class offerings to community members 65 and up.

Classes will be held every Friday from Feb. 16 to March 22, and registration begins Feb. 1.

“We’re pleased to be celebrating 30 years of welcoming seniors on campus for Senior Institute classes each spring,” said FVCC Director of Continuing Education Luke Lavin. “It is inspiring to see the passion for learning and the community created during these sessions. It is lifelong learning at its finest.”

Participants must submit a registration form to secure a space in their classes of choice. If you are new to FVCC or have not enrolled in a credit course in the past two years, a non-degree application is also required, both found at fvcc.edu/senior-institute.

Classes run from 1-3:05 p.m. with a lunch program included from noon-12:50 p.m.

There are many new classes this year, including offerings that study the human-animal relationship and maintaining resiliency while aging. Popular returning classes include the study of Northwest Montana birds and watercolors for all levels.

“We can’t wait for this year’s Senior Institute classes to begin — it is like kicking off spring semester all over again but with its own unique vibe,” Lavin said.

Enrollment is limited. Beginning Feb. 1, register by email, mail or in person on campus. Visit fvcc.edu/senior-institute for registration information and to download the full list of classes and registration form.
