Whitefish boys basketball won its fourth-straight game, taking down Bigfork 66-49 in Northwest A Conference play on Friday, Jan. 19.

The Bulldogs used a 25-12 run in the third quarter to put the game on ice against the conference’s newest member, as Bigfork moved up from Class B this year.

Whitefish led 14-11 after one quarter and then extended their lead to 32-24 at halftime.

In the second half, the Bulldogs kept the momentum going and Bigfork wasn’t able to catch up.

In the game, Mason Kelch’s perimeter shot was falling as he scored 23 points to lead the Bulldogs. CJ Thew added 16 points, Carson Gulick had 11 and Carson Krack scored 8 as seven players scored in the game.

Whitefish improved to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play. It was the second-highest offensive output of the season thus far, as the Bulldogs scored 69 against Eureka on Dec. 19 and 65 points against Stevensville on Dec. 8. The game followed several cancellations due to extreme winter weather.

Coming up, the Bulldogs host Browning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and travel to Libby on Monday. After press time Tuesday, Jan. 23, Whitefish was scheduled to play in Ronan.
