Police Calls: Flying furniture and fireworks

Dec. 25
The driver of a green Ford pickup was all over the road and nearly caused a head on collision on Highway 93.
A dark-colored SUV hit a guard rail at the bottom of the Big Mountain Road.
The driver of a vehicle that was driving on the shoulder, drifting and doing donuts in a parking lot on 18th Street might have been drinking.
Damage from a hit and run on Arielle Way was reported.
Dec. 26
An apartment manager on Ashar Avenue called to say a tenant’s dog was running around without a leash. He was advised the city ordinance does not apply to private property.
It was thought the 19 year old male who ordered an Uber did not wait for the Uber and got into his car, swerved around the caller and left. The caller believes the youth may have been drinking because he smelled alcohol on him and the teen was stumbling when walking.
There was a complaint of a vehicle drifting in a parking lot and driving recklessly in residential areas around Fourth Street.
There was a fire visible from Highway 93. The caller was concerned it may have been a trailer but it turned out to be a large burn pile.
Dec. 27
What appeared to be a crowbar was removed from the roadway.
An intoxicated pedestrian was wandering around Edgewood Place, attempting to read a stop sign and repeating the word, “chill.”
Dec. 28
There are issues between neighbors on Flathead Avenue regarding a cat.
Someone lost his wallet on Third Street.
The man who accidentally dialed 911 said he hit the wrong button while trying to dial in the dark.
A caller reported that he had hit a parked car on Haugen Heights. There were no injuries.
Dec. 29
Reportedly, three dogs on Columbia Avenue had been barking since 8 a.m. The caller said the dogs had been barking all week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Police spoke with the dogs’ owner and the dogs were taken indoors.
A friendly, older yellow Labrador was found on Flathead Avenue.
A male came onto the caller’s property on Central Avenue and threw all the furniture over the balcony and broke a vase. Neighbors chased him down and took photographs.
Someone on Big Mountain Road found a French bulldog and reunited the pup with her family.
The male in the lobby was too drunk to check in. He was not being physical, just loud and obnoxious. The male was removed from the property.
A phone that was believed to have been stolen on Central Avenue was returned to the owner after being found in a vehicle on Baker Avenue.
The neighbor’s on Elm Court are being loud and the caller has asked them three times over the last few days to keep it down. The caller wanted to handle it on her own and respectfully inform the neighbors of the ordinance for disturbing the peace.
When someone threw a firework out of their vehicle, the caller’s vehicle was hit with shrapnel.
Dec. 30
Two flatbed trailers parked on Dakota Avenue were a source of concern. The caller believed they were dangerous with fog on the corners, yet workers declined to move them.
The alarm at Glacier Bank was a false alarm.
Two incidents of stolen iPhones were reported.
The fact that hunting season ended weeks ago caused the caller to think that blood on the license plate and the trunk of a Ford F150 was suspicious.
A caller said his Ring camera shows the person who stole from every vehicle on Cascade Court.
Fireworks were being discharged on Fifth Street after 10 p.m.
Someone reported seeing a man drive through an alley near Central Avenue while waving a gun out the window.
Dec. 31
A white Audi was seen doing donuts in a parking lot on Seventh Street for 20 minutes.
The caller said loud music was coming from the house across the street on Labrie Drive. The noise level from the party was not excessive and it was before curfew so police would not be making contact. The caller just wished they would turn it down.
Someone on Highway 93 was cited for fireworks violation and warned for throwing lit objects out of a vehicle and for littering.
Fireworks were being set off on Park Avenue.
A party got out of control on Lacy Lane. Teenagers were physically fighting and the caller thought there were 150 kids involved.
A man was cited for urinating in public and for having an open container.
A driver was cited for driving 55 in a 45 mph zone. The driver stated she was driving 60 mph because it was too foggy and she couldn’t see any speed limit signs.
After a fight in front of a business on Central Avenue, the parties were counseled and everyone went their separate ways.
Fireworks were set off on Fox Farm Drive.
