Dynamic music and comedy duo, Bridge & Wolak, stop in Whitefish

Called “the Victor Borges of the 21st century,” the Canadian music and comedy duo, Bridge & Wolak, share an ambitious agenda — to create an unforgettable experience for audiences through an original, irreverent, meticulously prepared and completely in-the-moment program. 

Bridge & Wolak are set to perform at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24. The program is presented by Whitefish Theater Company.

Each member of this globe-trotting dynamic duo is a double threat on two instruments. Michael Bridge plays accordion and piano and Kornel Wolak plays clarinet and piano. Together, they have become an internationally acclaimed music and comedy duo, integrating traditional acoustic instruments with modern digital technology and performing their reimagined repertoire of classical, world and jazz fusion.

“With deft virtuosity and endless wit, Bridge & Wolak have been called ‘the best of new, young classical musicians … bringing their own style of intellect, expertise, and talent to a new 21st-century audience,” according to a press release from Whitefish Theatre Company. 

With seven degrees in music between them, these classically trained musicians will bring inventive flair and exceptional entertainment to the stage. 

Bridge & Wolak met over a decade ago and established an artistic alliance based on the attraction of opposites. Wolak is intensely focused with a worldview infused with sardonic humor, while Bridge is flexible and fearless with a playful wit. 

Their concerts cover musical hits from the 17th century to today, a program inspired by travel to the cosmos, and a look at the outrageously scandalous behavior of some of the greatest composers of all time. 

Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for students with reserved seating.
