Whitefish speech second in Glacier Yeti tourney
The Whitefish High speech and debate team came in second only to Columbia Falls this weekend at Glacier High School.
The two-day tournament featured great competition for the Bulldogs who had several placers.
“We want to thank Glacier for putting on this tournament so quickly and successfully,” said Whitefish coach Sara Mueller. “We were in need of a two-day tournament prior to state to work on our stamina, and it was great to stay close to home and have great competition.”
On the debate side, the team of Alex Losee and Vana Fortune came away with third place in policy debate while Jake Dunker and Bjorn Bungener were sixth. In public forum debate, Jayce McDonald and Brynn McDonald placed fourth.
Whitefish’s Astir Pulsifer placed third in original oratory and Cole Pickert was third in humorous interpretation. In memorized public address, Unity Loveless placed fifth.
“We certainly saw some success following a break full of lots of hard work,” Mueller added. “Our team put in massive amounts of work both in practice and at home. We are excited to see where the end of the season takes us.”
Bulldog speech and debate is back in action on Saturday in Lewistown.
