Community Foundation accepting grant applications

| January 10, 2024 1:00 AM

Whitefish Community Foundation’s Community Grant Program is accepting applications until Feb. 15, 2024 at 5 p.m. Eligible nonprofits may apply for up to $10,000 for programs or projects benefiting residents of Flathead County or for health and human service programs benefiting residents of Lincoln and Glacier counties. Applications must be submitted through Whitefish Community Foundation’s online granting platform. Additional information and eligibility requirements can be found at whitefishcommunityfoundation.org/community-grant-program-guidelines/.

Nonprofits that have never received a grant from Whitefish Community Foundation are encouraged to apply for a Community Grant to help the foundation become acquainted with the organization. Receiving a Community Grant is a stepping stone to being considered as a Great Fish Community Challenge participant.

Organizations that plan on applying to participate in the 2024 Great Fish Community Challenge may apply for a Community Grant if they are requesting funds to support a capital project not funded by the Challenge or if they have identified a new and significant need.

Whitefish Community Foundation will host two optional workshops to assist nonprofits with the application process. An in-person workshop will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Northwest Montana History Museum in Kalispell. An online workshop will be held Tuesday, Jan. 30 from 12 to 1 p.m. To register for either workshop, call the foundation at (406) 863-1781 or email contact@whitefishcommunityfoundation.org.

Whitefish Community Foundation is dedicated to fostering philanthropy, building endowments and helping donors and nonprofits benefit our communities. Since the inception of the Community Grant program in 2000, Whitefish Community Foundation has granted more than $2.6 million to local nonprofit organizations.
