Werner Peak Lookout 2024 reservations open Feb.1
Werner Peak Lookout, an observation tower nestled at 6,960 feet in the Stillwater State Forest on Montana State Trust Lands, will begin accepting reservations for the 2024 season on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at 8 a.m. This marks a change from the previous years when reservations opened on Jan. 1.
The Werner Peak Lookout offers a unique opportunity for overnight stays, allowing guests to experience the stunning 360-degree views of the Whitefish Mountain Range, Glacier National Park and Flathead Valley. Additionally, the historic Ralph Thayer Memorial Trail, part of an extensive trail system, runs adjacent to the lookout, providing an immersive experience for nature enthusiasts.
The available rental dates for the 2024 season are July 7 to July 31 and Sept. 1 to Oct. 1. The lookout operates on a first-come-first-served basis. Due to the high demand, each guest is limited to reserving the lookout for a maximum of two nights per season.
The cost for renting Werner Peak Lookout remains at $60 per night, with an additional bed tax applicable.
