Valley Voices presents ‘Once Upon a Christmas’
The Valley Voices Community Choir will present its Christmas concert, “Once Upon a Christmas,” twice this weekend in Whitefish.
Local radio personality John Hendricks will host the concert as its master of ceremonies.
“I’ve been directing this choir for 25 years now and this is the largest, most enthusiastic group of singers we’ve ever had” Director Allyson Kuechmann said. “I’m looking forward to one of our best performances ever.”
The concert will encompass a range of sacred and secular music. Both the full choir of almost 90 voices and two smaller choral groups will perform. Violinist Wai Mizutani will also perform with the choir.
“Being at the center of a live performance like this, especially with all this wonderful music, is a real thrill for me,” Hendricks said.
Admission to Valley Voices performances is free.
“We will take a free-will offering to help with some of the costs of doing the concert, but we want everyone to be able to attend, regardless of their ability to pay,” said Carole Arthur, treasurer for the choir.
The concerts will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 3 p.m.
Both concerts will be at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center, 127 Spokane Ave.
