Film on history of skiing Big Mountain encores
The Ski Heritage Center Museum is presenting a second encore showing of “Raising Hell Roaring: The Big Mountain Story” at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center on Dec. 12 at 7 p.m.
“We kept hearing from folks who missed both sold-out shows last spring or just want to see it again,” said Tim Hinderman, museum spokesman.
The film chronicles the genesis of skiing on Big Mountain and throughout the region, from Logan Pass to the Cabinet Range, since the 1930s.
Drawing on movies, photos, books, letters and first-hand accounts, the stories from this seminal era of skiing are presented in a fast-paced, sometimes hilarious and occasionally tragic fashion that will be appreciated by newcomers and long-time participants alike.
Tickets are available online at whitefishskimuseum.org. Adult tickets are $20. Students, military, veteran and senior tickets are $15.
The Ski Heritage Museum is located at 705 Wisconsin Avenue in the historic Saddle Club cabin adjacent to the Stumptown Ice Den in Whitefish. Starting on Dec. 4, the museum will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesday – Saturday through the ski season.
