Over 1,000 turkeys trotted, strolled and even slid and skated around Whitefish in support of North Valley Food Bank on Thanksgiving morning.
The 15th annual Whitefish Turkey Trot 5k, previously held at the food bank, was moved to downtown this year in anticipation of the high turnout. Two waves of participants took off around 8:30 and 9 a.m., starting and ending outside of the O'Shaughnessy Center. The event sold out well in advance of Thanksgiving.
There were a couple of icy spots out on the course, but speedsters and walkers alike were in high spirits as they crossed the finish line.
