Community Support Fund passes $300,000 milestone in supporting Housing Whitefish

The Community Support Fund (CSF), also known as 1% for Whitefish, in coordination with Explore Whitefish, has contributed over $300,000 to Housing Whitefish to tackle the challenge of affordable workforce housing in our area. In fiscal year 2024 alone, the CSF raised more than $151,000.  

“I am honored to represent our community in this initiative. Our collective contributions are making a real difference in the lives of our workforce,” wrote Explore Whitefish Executive Director Julie Mullins in an Explore Whitefish newsletter. “This program not only supports Explore Whitefish’s mission to foster a sustainable year-round visitor economy but also helps preserve Whitefish’s unique character by ensuring that our workforce can live and work here.” 

A notable achievement of the Community Support Fund is the critical funding offered to the Housing Whitefish Rental Assistance Program, which launched in January. This program has already assisted over 40 households and 81 individuals, providing crucial support to those in need. 

“We are seeing positive changes right now, and it's important to celebrate the compassion and contributions of all our members,” Mullins wrote. “Thank you for making a meaningful impact in our community.”
