Cedar Ridge area closure
The Cedar Ridge area in the Hungry Horse-Glacier View Ranger District of the Flathead National Forest will be closed for the safety of the public and contractors for planned activities on the Crystal Cedar Project starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024. The work is anticipated to be complete at the end of September with the closure terminating on Sept. 30. The Cedar Ridge area timber sale contract activities will occur on and around the Cedar Ridge Road (Forest Road 1690) as logging crews use a skyline logging system to implement the timber harvest.
In addition to the three roads listed in the order, Forest Road 1690, Forest Road 1690A, and Forest Road 10812, the area closure will impact a portion of the Cedar Flats Trails System. While the order remains in place, the public will not be able to access the Cedar Ridge Road (Forest Road 1690) from the Beargrass Trail #41 or the Waving Bear Connector Trail #6400B, and Cedar Ridge Trail #38 and Lower Cedar Ridge Trail #39 will be closed in their entirety.
