Annual Plein Air Glacier fundraising event
Plein Air Glacier: Paint Out, Exhibition and Sale is a combined painting experience and favorite destination event, with selected established painters from Montana and around the country painting in Glacier National Park and nearby Swan and Flathead Valleys. Selected artists travel to Northwest Montana to paint outdoors in the fresh air, “en plein air,” Aug. 26-30 with an opening fundraiser sale event Saturday, Aug. 31 and an ongoing exhibit and sale through Oct. 5 at the Hockaday Museum.
Aug. 26-30: Plein Air Paint Out in Glacier National Park, Swan Valley, Flathead Valley with three selected artists. Visit www.hockadaymuseum.com/plein-air-glacier for a list of outdoor locations the public can view artists painting free.
Aug. 27-28: Artist Hikes. Participants will hike in to see Plein Air Glacier artists Wanda Mumm on Aug. 27 and Rob Akey on Aug. 28 and others painting on location. Aug. 31, 4-7 p.m.: Plein Air Glacier Preview Party and Fundraiser Sale with artists, members and guests including live music by the Knotty Pines featuring Brett Holmquist and Ryan Wicklund, drinks, bites and more. Members $5, non-members $10. All proceeds go to support the Hockaday's mission and programs.
