Robert J. “Bob” Fletcher

September 5, 1963 – March 31, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert J. “Bob” Fletcher. Bob passed away unexpectedly on March 31, Easter morning, in Santa Barbara, California at the age of 60. We are devastated by his sudden loss.

Born September 5, 1963 in Redding, California Bob was raised in Beaverton, Oregon. He was a graduate of Beaverton High School and the University of Oregon and spent more than 30 years in the cellular phone industry, first with Portland Paging, and then Verizon, before retiring in 2023.

With his life partner, Julie Cicconetti, Bob spent much of his time traveling between Portland, Oregon; Whitefish, Montana; and Santa Barbara visiting family and friends and participating in cycling and skiing events. He was a talented and competitive cyclist and snow skier, having competed in many events. In 2024 he skied 2.4 million vertical feet at Big Mountain ski resort in Whitefish.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Jack Fletcher. He is survived by his mother Florence “Flossie” Fletcher, brothers Steve and Ross Fletcher, sons Jack and Truman Fletcher, partner Julie Cicconetti, sisters-in-law Pam Fletcher and Christina Fletcher, step children Bennett Dobbins and Wils Jazilek, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

With Bob’s passing we are reminded of the fragility of life and that life is a precious gift bestowed upon us by God.

Celebration of life plans are pending.
