Whitefish baseball heats up in wins over Troy, Corvallis

Whitefish picked up two victories last week, taking down Troy and Corvallis, but falling to Frenchtown. In each matchup, Bulldog pitching kept opponents down while Whitefish bats found their stroke in two games.
Against Troy on Thursday, April 18, Whitefish notched a 16-1 victory. Whitefish finished with 11 hits and led 11-1 after three innings.
On the mound, Brady Howke pitched three innings and struck out five batters, while Otto Klein closed out Troy by striking out three.
At the plate, Tair Orme had two hits and two RBI. Christian Schwaderer had two hits and drove in two runs, while Queen had two hits and an RBI with a double. Calvin Eisenbarth had two RBI and two hits.
On Friday, April 19, Whitefish was blanked by Frenchtown 6-0, being held to two hits. Tait Orme and Christian Schwaderer had those hits, while Michael Miller struck out five on the mound and Ryan Conklin struck out two. Frenchtown had six hits and scored runs in the third through sixth innings.
Whitefish bounced back on Saturday, April 20, defeating Corvallis 7-3. After trailing 1-0, Whitefish scored four runs in the bottom of the third. Corvallis walked in three runs, and an error caused another.
Corvallis scored another run in the fourth but Whitefish scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Bulldogs finished with seven hits. Brady Howke was 2-for-3, and Ryan Conklin and Michael Miller drove in runs in the fifth inning.
On the mound, Orme struck out five while allowing just three hits, while Otto Klein finished the final three innings, striking out two and scattering three hits.
Whitefish improved to 3-5 on the season with the win.
