Police Calls: Behaving strangely is not against the law

April 3

  • A reckless driver in a green Toyota was seen on Highway 93 swerving and flipping people off.

  • Someone locked his keys in his truck but was quickly able to get in.

April 4

  • There was an apparently intoxicated man on Fourth Street.

  • Someone hit a parked car and left all their information for the driver.

  • A drunk roommate caused issues.

April 5

  • An agitated male on Railway Street was moved along.

  • The caller thought there needs to be extra patrol or a speed limit sign on Haugen Heights because there are multiple vehicles that go flying down the road.

  • The caller who reported a man acting violently and pretending to shoot the bushes was advised that it is not illegal to act oddly.

  • A female reportedly stole alcohol from a location on Highway 93.

April 6

  • The caller followed a drunk driver in a Honda Accord who was going at least 60 mph on Spokane Avenue.

  • A car was parked in the driving lane of the road on Edgewood Drive but was not blocking traffic.

  • It was believed that three females who all appeared to be underage stole alcohol from a location on Highway 93.

  • It was reported that a transient in a sleeping bag with several beer bottles around him was sleeping and arguing with people on Central Avenue.

  • The caller was concerned for the well-being of an intoxicated female who left a location on Central Avenue with a couple who, the caller said, drugged and assaulted a woman three weeks ago.

April 7

  • The caller’s on-leash dog was attacked by three dogs on Columbia Avenue but did not want to pursue charges. The owner of the attacking dogs was counseled.

  • There were a bunch of rocks in the roadway that were blocking one of the lanes on Lakeshore Drive.

  • An apparently altered driver threw three cans out the window at the caller’s vehicle on Spokane Avenue.

April 8

  • The lodging clerk was concerned for a highly intoxicated male’s well-being because he was unable to secure a room and it was cold outside.

  • A mechanic was on the scene, trying to fix a semi truck that had been parked on the road since yesterday with flashers on.

  • The owner of three dogs on Creek View Drive was advised of the city ordinance because the dogs were loose, are always loose, causing problems and are always in the street causing traffic issues. 

  • A three-legged dog was found and returned to his owner.

  • A 40-pound mixed breed, red haired dog was lost from Riverside Avenue.

April 9

  • A female was sleeping in her vehicle in the parking lot of a business on Spokane Avenue. When the caller spoke to the woman to see if she was ok, she was slurring her words before driving away.

  • Three Jeep Cherokees were left on the property on Second Street after the tenant left 2-3 months ago.

  • The caller was walking his dog and reported seeing a homeless campsite he wanted removed. Upon investigation, there were no people seen in the area.

  • The caller said a black metal dump trailer has been parked on Mountain Park Drive for several weeks. He is also concerned about the nails left in the road.

  • Someone lost a diamond earring in a white gold setting.

  • The caller found the trailer with a raft and moped on it that was left in the neighborhood on Lake Park Lane suspicious and thinks it has been stolen.

  • Reportedly, someone has been sleeping outside people’s houses on Waverly Place and the caller thinks they are taking things.
