Bulldogs tennis takes down AA Flathead

Classifications meant nothing to Whitefish as the Bulldogs defeated their AA foe Flathead in both boys and girls action on Thursday, April 18. The boys had a 8-0 sweep while the girls notched the 7-1 win.

On the girl's side, Alivia Lusko won the No. 1 singles matchup for Whitefish, defeating Elle Westover 6-2, 6-1. Liesel Brust and Dessi Young were also singles winners. 

In doubles action, Ainsley Scott and Maggie Mercer were winners at No. 1, downing Chloe Converse and Keegan Williams 6-0, 6-2. Camry Kelch and Zoey Marzo won the No. 2 battle, Delila Vine and Gretel Vine scored the No. 3 victory over Ava Malmin and Kyle Amundson 6-4, 7-5, and Lucy Marzo and Lizzy Hollen.

For the boys, Jake Ochelrich was the No. 1 singles winner, downing Flathead’s Holden Askvig 4-6, 6-1, 6-0. Owen Erickson, Wyatt Seigmund, and Aaron Anderson were also winners.

The No. 1 doubles team of Mason Kelch and Dane Hunt downed Flathead’s Kobe Schlegel and Jack Thompson 6-1, 6-1. Jesse Burrough and Buren Brust won at No. 2, while Cole Moses and Logan Hyland were winners at No. 3. Creed Scott and Luke Craig won their matchup 6-2, 6-3.

Whitefish Sweeps Columbia Falls

Whitefish swept their Flathead Valley rival Columbia Falls in Cat-Dog tennis action on Tuesday, April 16. The boys won all their matchups for the 7-0 win, while the girls picked up the 6-1 victory. 

Owen Erickson won the No. 1 singles matchup on the boys' side, defeating Columbia Falls’ Jax Ramage 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 in a battle. Jack Oehlerich and Walt Seigmund won the No. 2 and No. 3 matchups and Aaron Anderson notched a 6-2, 6-1 victory. 

In doubles action, Mason Kelch and Dane Hunt won the No. 1 matchup over Columbia Falls Logan Heupel and Will Pickard 6-2, 6-1. Jesse Burrough and Buren Brust won the No. 2 matchup 6-2, 6-0 and Cole Moses and Logan Hyland also were victorious. 

On the girls side, Liesl Brust won the No. 2 singles match over Columbia Falls’ Aliyah Arends 6-0, 6-0. Ainsley Grubb and Gretel Vine picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win. 

For doubles, Ainsley Scott and Maggie Mercer won their doubles matchup at No. 1 for Whitefish, defeating Lucie Love and Fiona Bryant 6-0, 6-1. Zoey Marxo and Camry Kelch were also winners as was Lucy Marzo Delila Vine.
