Whitefish falls in five sets to Frenchtown
Whitefish took Frenchtown to the limit but fell 25-18, 29-31, 18-25, 26-24, 13-15 in Western A Volleyball action on Tuesday, September 5.
“A few missed serves kept us from securing a win in game two- causing a momentum change,” Whitefish Head Coach Addy Connelly said. “The Bulldogs came back strong in game four and then came from behind in game five just a bit short.”
Brooke Zetooney led the Whitefish attack with 14 kills, while Baley Smith had 12 kills, and Izzy Hartwig and Myli Ridgeway each had nine kills. In total, Whitefish had 54 kills and 52 assists.
Ainsley Scott had 29 assists while Kaydence Blackwell had another 19, while Ridgeway had 22 digs. Hartwig had seven blocks at the net.
“Brooke hit very well while Izzy was a wall,” Connelly said. “Myli played great defensively tonight, leading our team in digs.”
Smith and Zetooney each had 16 digs, while Scott had 15. Hailey Ells had four assists and three blocks. In all, Whitefish had 94 digs.
Ronan Downs Whitefish
Ronan downed Whitefish in four sets in Northwestern A volleyball action on Thursday, September 7, as the Maidians notched 18-25, 25-23, 26-24, 27-25 set victories.
McKenna Cortey had 11 of Ronan’s 40 kills, while Seattle Adams had 31 assists. Cortey also had six blocks. Defensively, Kaydance Santes had 16 of Ronan’s 72 digs in the matchup.
Isabella Hartwig led Whitefish with 10 kills, while Wyli Ridgeway had 22 digs.
