First half scoring lifts Whitefish boys soccer past Stevensville

Two first-half goals by Whitefish produced a 2-0 Northwestern A victory over Stevensville on Friday, Sept. 1.

Kyler Johnson scored in the 29th minute on an Elijah Adams-Griffin assist, and Johnson scored again in the 39th minute.

Whitefish improved to 2-0 on the season and ground their way past Stevensville with nine shots on goal and 12 corner kicks. The game featured five cards, including three for Stevensville and two for Whitefish. There were a total of 30 fouls called in the game.

Whitefish hosts Libby at home on Thursday at Smith Fields at 4 p.m. and then face Bigfork at home on Saturday at noon. The Bulldogs travel to Columbia Falls on Tuesday with game time set for 5 p.m.
