Whitefish caps regular season with 3-0 soccer victory over Polson
Whitefish wrapped up the regular season with a 3-0 victory over Northwest A foe Polson on Saturday, Oct. 7. While the Lady Bulldogs already wrapped up the conference championship, the win did improve their record to 10-2 overall and 7-1 in Northwest A action.
Whitefish scored all its goals in the first half. Isabelle Cooke scored in the ninth minute on an assist for Georgia Morell. Four minutes later, Delaney Smith scored on another assist from Morell. The scoring flurry wrapped up as Cooke scored her second goal on an assist from Olivia Genovese in the 14th minute.
Whitefish had 27 shots on goal, 16 of those on goal. The Lady Bulldogs also had six corner kicks compared to Polson’s one.
Polson fell to 4-8 on the season.

Whitefish Falls to Columbia Falls
With everything tied up regarding a conference championship and two home playoff games, the Whitefish girls' soccer team wasn’t in a do-or-die situation on Thursday, Oct. 5, against Columbia Falls in Northwest A action.
The Wildkats, however, had plenty to play for in standing jostling and came away with a 2-1 victory at Smith Fields in Whitefish. It was the first time Columbia Falls had defeated the Lady Bulldogs since 2018.
Whitefish led 1-0 at halftime, thanks to an individual goal by Isabelle Cooke. Columbia Falls then came back to score it in the 65th minute off a penalty kick and notched the go-ahead goal with five minutes to go.
Columbia Falls outshot Whitefish 19-16, but Norah Schmidt put a dazzling display on in the goal for the Bulldogs, collecting 19 saves.
