Police Calls: Questions raised over bones, mushroom ownership

Nov. 4
A male was talking to himself in the bathroom of a business on Highway 93 for an hour and a half. Employees requested that he be asked to move on.
A man who was apparently setting up his new phone accidentally dialed 911.
The owner of a black Hyundai that was parked on Central Avenue overnight informed police that his keys were stolen so he would not be able to move the vehicle immediately.
A large white dog was found, taken to the police station and returned to the owner.
A large, brown curly-haired dog was reported as lost but then he was found.
Nov. 5
Someone on Green Place found a light-colored, smaller husky dog. Attempts were made to contact the owner.
It was unclear whether the driver of the gray Jeep SUV was a male or female, but they were driving aggressively and tailgating on Big Mountain Road.
Nov. 7
A white Subaru was seen going 60 mph in a 45 mph zone on Dillon Road.
Someone got caught with shrooms that weren’t his.
The caller was crossing the street on Central Avenue and almost got hit by a car.
Nov. 8
Someone lost their navy blue wallet at a location on Highway 93.
Nov. 9
A caller had questions about shooting a bow and arrow in the city limits.
There was a report of rocks on the southbound lane of Wisconsin Avenue.
An alarm sounded at a bank on Second Street but everything was OK at the location.
The owner of the red Ford that was in the parking lot of a location on Highway 93 for four days was notified and would be moving his vehicle.
A male and a female were caught shoplifting at a business on Highway 93.
A black Chevy truck was parked in a handicap space on Depot Street without a permit displayed.
Two traffic cones were removed from Skyles Place at 2:27 a.m.
Nov. 10
Problems between neighbors continue on Park Avenue.
A flashing traffic light looked like it was sagging lower than usual and the caller feared a semi might catch it whilst driving under it.
A golden retriever-looking dog with a brown collar was found in front of a business on Highway 93. The employee said the dog was there all the time but the caller thought it had an injured leg and may have been hit by a car.
Nov. 11
There was a report of graffiti in the bathroom at a location on Highway 40.
Employees of a location on Highway 93 reported a structure fire in the business next door and said the building was filling with smoke. Their building smelled of smoke. At first no flames were visible, but then they did report seeing flames. They said the neighboring building was locked up and it did not appear that anyone was inside.
A customer of a business on Highway 93 hit the building with his blue Dodge. The caller thought the man may have been drunk. Reportedly, the man walked inside, bought a couple things, and was staggering and swaying and slurring before leaving. No damage was seen on the building.
A highly intoxicated male was threatening staff members on Depot Street.
Video was found of the man in the blue Dodge driving into the building on Highway 93.
The caller complaining of noise at a location on Wisconsin Avenue said the noise was an issue last night and tonight. The noise was coming from the pool area where the hot tub is open late.
At 1:23 a.m. male on Central Avenue was advised not to urinate in public.
Nov. 12
Someone saw a male with brown hair and a long beard hanging out near the train tracks. They were suspicious of him and thought he was going to try to jump onto a departing train.
The person with a blue Ford who built a temporary kennel in front of the business on Highway 93 did not have permission to sell puppies there and was asked to move along.
Meanwhile, issues between neighbors on Park Avenue continue.
Nov. 13
Someone reported losing his keys somewhere on Central Avenue.
A woman on Bootjack Lake Road wanted to show officers what she believed could be the hand of either a human or a bear. Pictures of the bones were sent to the pathologist in Missoula.
Dogs were barking on Texas Avenue and do so whenever their owner is not home.
Two checks were bounced at the same business in one day on Highway 93.
A white Jeep was seen driving erratically on Highway 93, speeding and slowing down and drifting all over the road.
A disorderly customer tried to start a fight at a business on Highway 93. The employee at the establishment said a pint glass went through the window and the customer got angry and threw someone at the glass liquor display and caused damage.
A woman accidentally dialed 911 in her sleep.
