Whitefish Theatre Company offers summer camps
Enrollment is now open for Whitefish Theatre Company’s Summer Performance Camps. WTC is offering programs for all age groups, from first through 12th grades. Theatre camps at WTC offer tools that promote self-confidence in a supportive, creative and dynamic environment.
Three camps will be offered during the week of July 10-14. Scene Sleuths Camp is offered for students entering fourth grade and higher. Taught by Rebecca Spear, campers will solve the mysteries of who, what, when, where and how within a script and even create their own exciting scenes in this fun-filled week. Two sessions of Improv Comedy Camp will be offered for students entering fourth through sixth grades and seventh grade and up. Taught by Maggie Garver, participants will learn improv fundamentals by trusting their instincts, saying yes to teammates, and fully committing to the hilarious scenes and characters that campers come up with.
Two additional camps are available during the week of July 17-21. A “High School Musical” Dance Camp will be offered for students entering fifth grade and higher. Taught by Alyssa Morales, campers will learn a mix of jazz, hip hop and musical-style choreography to a song from Disney’s hit film “High School Musical”, while working on rhythm, expressiveness and musical interpretation. Finally, the Welcome To Wonderland Camp is for students entering first through third grades. Taught by Kim Krueger, participants will create their own Wonderland Adventure by building a play from the ground up, creating characters and their own script in one exciting week. Please note that the “Matilda The Musical” Dance Camp is currently full. Call 406-862-5371 to get on a waiting list.
All camps culminate in a performance for family and friends on Friday. Please see the Whitefish Theatre Company website at www.whitefishtheatreco.org for more information and to download the camp registration form. Registration can also be done over the phone by calling 406-862-5371.
