Whitefish School District election results
The results for the Whitefish school election that occurred on Tuesday, May 2, are tallied.
Voters approved a general fund operating levy for $231,766 with 64.13% of votes cast that will cover staff salary increases and additional staffing needs, according to the school district. The votes were 1,482 for and 786 against.
The owner of a home with an assessed value of $300,000 can anticipate annual taxes to increase by $10.23.
Additionally, all three incumbents were re-elected as Whitefish School District trustees — including Jerrie Boksich with 1,884 votes, Katie Clarke with 1,806 votes and Shannon Hanson with 1,806 votes. New candidate Judy Hessellund got 449 votes.
There are about 12,000 registered active voters in the Whitefish School District. The voter turnout was about 19%.
