Flathead Classic Sled Dog Race says thanks

| March 22, 2023 1:00 AM

On behalf of all of the mushers and the ski/bike jorers we would to thank the organizers of the latest Flathead Classic Sled Dog Race that took place out at Dog Creek Lodge on the last weekend in February. Once again, Brett Svetlik, Pam Beckstrom, Georgia Hall, Steve Riggs and Alexandra Ness put together a spectacular race! And this race could not happen without the support of our local community.

The following is a list of the wonderful businesses who donated to our race once again this year: Dog Creek Lodge, Adanac Sleds and Equipment, Go West T-shirt Co., Northwest Montana Adventures, Glacier Restaurant Group, R Porch Construction, Western Building Center, Heartstone Advisors, Moore Veterinary Service, Nelson’s Hardware, Chinook Canine Rehab, Glacier Bank of WF, Reggie’s Quick Lube, Great Northern Cycle and Ski, Murdoch’s Ranch and Home Supply, Pin and Cue, Montana Hammer Knives, Miakoda Leather, Whitefish Anchors, Sage and Cedar, Chinook Canine Rehab, Perfectly Raw Pet Foods, Sportsman’s Ski Haus, Glacier Cyclery, Winter Woods Dog Sled Tours, Tamarack Cannabis, Whitefish Animal Hospital, WF Remax (Chap Godsey), and J Ranch Glassworks.

In-kind gifts were donated by: Clydesdale Outpost, Safeway of Whitefish, Axehead, Northslope Farms, Loula’s Café, The Buffalo Café, Craggy Range, Great Northern Bar, Farm-to-Market Pork, Tailwaggers, Genesis Kitchen, Trego Pub, Blarney Heights, Carol Clause and Stumptown Snowboards.

Please support these businesses as they supported us! We know they get asked to donate to so many causes each year, and the Flathead Classic Dog Sled Race is very grateful they feel our event is worth donating to.

This event could not happen without all the volunteers who stood out in the cold to direct the dog teams in the right direction, who manned the cooking and merchandise tents, who groomed the trails and set up signage, and who kept track of the timing for each event. We appreciate you!

Butch and Sara Parr, and all the participants of this year's race.
