Whitefish Woody Weekend returns to The Lodge

| June 14, 2023 1:00 AM

Whitefish Woody Weekend, now in its 11th year, is the premier classic boat show in the Pacific Northwest and will be held June 23-25, 2023, at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. The public is invited to participate throughout the weekend.

A favorite with locals and visitors alike, hundreds gather to soak up a little history and feel the romance of a bygone era while they overlook the rows of brilliant mahogany boats, proudly presented at their best and gleaming in the sunshine.

Many look forward each year to the wonderful gathering of a variety of classic boat manufacturers including Chris Craft, Century, Hacker-Craft and Garwood that come to Whitefish Lake for a weekend of fun and friendship.

With classic wooden boats from 1928 to the present on display, it’s a wonderful way for all ages to admire and learn the stories of these very special boats.

For those who wish to find out more about the hobby of wooden or classic boats, along with the opportunity for direct conversation with the show exhibitors, there will be additional information available at the table at the entrance to the docks.

The public is invited to vote for their favorite boat to determine the People’s Choice Award winner. There will be drawings throughout the day for public boat rides on one of the classic beauties.

On Friday, June 23, gather at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake’s brand-new Tiki Bar for an open house event with live music beginning at 6 p.m. to kick off the wood boat parade on Whitefish Lake.

Later, join the fun on the lake or on the beaches, decks and docks around the lake for a sunset cruise/parade around beautiful Whitefish Lake beginning at 8 p.m.

On Saturday, June 24, see the classic boats up close and personal at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake beginning at 9 a.m.

A morning poker run with the wood boats out on the lake will kick off the activities on Sunday, June 25. It will be followed by a BBQ on the beach at The Lodge for event participants.

Since parking is limited, feel free to park at any S.N.O.W. Bus stop and ride the complimentary bus to The Lodge at Whitefish Lake to enjoy the event. This is a new service this year.

All boat activities are free and open to the public so bring the family to The Lodge at Whitefish Lake June 23-25 and enjoy this very special event.

Nominated as one of the Best Community Events, Whitefish Woody Weekend, presented by The Big Sky Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society (ACBS) and hosted by The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, has been the unofficial kick-off to the summer boating season for the past 10 years.
